FAURÉ BRAHMS MOZART

For our season opener, we will pair the Chorale singers with the power of the new Village Church Opus22 organ, the talents of organist Elisa Bickers, and the sheer beauty of Mozart’s Regina Coeli, the passion of Faure’s Requiem, Jean Langlais’ dramatic Messe Solennelle, and the elegance of Brahms’ Geistliches Lied

  • Friday, October 25, 7:30p - Village Presbyterian, Prairie Village, KS

A CEREMONY OF CAROLS

As holiday time approaches, the Chorale presents one of Benjamin Britten’s most accessible and delightful works. Based on medieval carols (and sung in Middle English, their original 16th century language), the Ceremony of Carols is performed with a lush harp accompaniment. Also on tap for our classical holiday concerts will be Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, a choral tapestry of English carols and a ‘”fantasia" in the truest sense.

  • Tuesday, December 10, 7:30p - St. Paul's Episcopal, KC, MO
  • Friday, December 13, 7:30p - Rolling Hills Presbyterian, Prairie Village, KS
  • Sunday, December 15, 2:00p - Country Club Plaza United Methodist, KC, MO

A CHORALE FAMILY CHRISTMAS

One of our most popular concerts of the season, this one-hour concert showcases the talents of 200 high school honor choir students who will join the Chorale for soul-stirring performances of everyone’s favorite holiday music.

  • Saturday, December 14, 1:00p - St. Michael the Archangel, Leawood, KS

HOLIDAY POPS!

A lighthearted nod to the simple joys of America’s favorite holiday tunes: Jingle Bells, The Christmas Song, Carol of the Bells, Christmas Time is Here, White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and more ... including Charles' favorite, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.

  • Saturday, December 14, 7:30p - 1900 Building, Mission, KS

PRAIRIE BLUEGRASS

A fun, toe-tapping potpourri of tunes celebrating the prairie lands, and the uniquely American genre of roots music we call bluegrass. The concert opens with songs of the prairies including Ēriks Ešenvalds' Ancient Prairie and Morton Lauridsen's Sure on this Shining Night, followed by a selection of traditional spiritual anthems. We'll finish the concert with a rousing set of bluegrass tunes, joined by a local bluegrass band.

  • Saturday, March 7, 7:30p - 1900 Building, Mission, KS
  • Sunday, March 8, 2:00p - St. John's United Methodist, KC, MO

SPRING SONG

The Chorale’s much loved celebration of spring and the Easter season. This one-hour concert is performed in the lush acoustic and visual splendor of Kirkwood Hall at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Our annual encore is always Irving Berlin’s Easter Bonnet, so wear yours!

  • Saturday, April 11, 6:00p - Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, KC, MO

THE TRAVELS OF MARCO POLO

Be a part of our LIVE recording of this concert! Back by popular demand, this performance follows Marco Polo’s epic journey, with music from Rome to the exotic realms of the Far East. Highlights include Dr. Chen Yi’s Chinese Folk Songs, lavish choral tapestries from the Middle East, India, and Monglian steppe and restored from the Vatican library, the second performance in nearly 500 years of Bartolomeo Escobedo’s masterpiece, Missa ad te levavi.

  • Sunday, May 3, 2:00p - Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, KC, MO
  • Tueday, May 5, 7:30p - Our Lady of Sorrows, KC, MO
